GROUPLOVE to Headline the 97X BBQ in Tampa Bay

Grouplove

The infectiously quirky indie rock band hailing from Los Angeles, actually came to fruition on a chance summer spent in a Greece art residency in the late 2000s. You probably first head of them because of the hype from their first album, Never Trust A Happy Song, that included the smash hit tracks “Colours” and “Tongue Tied”. Since that debut album that put them on the map, they have recorded two more full length albums, including 2016’s Big Mess, which you should be expecting to hear plenty of at this year’s BBQ. Being new parents and growing into adulthood while in a [More]

Incubus Announce Tour Alongside Jimmy Eat World, Judah & the Lion

Incubus will be hitting the road this summer in celebration of their debut album’s 20th anniversary. Well, it is the 20th anniversary of their debut album on a major record label, which is extremely impressive because that insinuates that they’ve been at it for well over two decades. The Calabasas, California band was one of the most popular alt metal band of the early 2000’s drawing inspiration and similarities to the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deftones, and Korn. In addition to their 20th anniversary, there appears to be added inspiration for a 2017 tour in a new album. Incubus [More]

Bishop Briggs announces headlining tour

Bishop Briggs aka Sarah McLaughlin will be returning to the Tampa Bay area for a headlining show May 17th at State Theatre in St. Pete. Bishop roared into Tampa last December to perform at Next Big Thing riding the smash hit success of “River”. She previously garnered attention for her debut single “Wild Horses” which became an internet hit following its inclusion on an Acura commercial. She has since been noted, mentioned, and previewed in countless acclaimed music blogs and publications. We don’t have a debut album from her, and are anxiously awaiting that. I would expect one soon, considering [More]

97x NBT Artist of the Week: COIN

  • 4:29 pm Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 by Kyle T- Street Team

The pop rock quartet COIN, stylized with all caps, has recently risen from the ever saturated music scene of Nashville to radios and Spotify accounts nationwide. The four band mates all met and formed COIN while students at Nashville’s Belmont University. Aside from maybe Vampire Weekend, you rarely hear of college bands becoming musical success stories. In a city infiltrated by aspiring musicians, COIN was able to stand out. Whiles dozens of their fellow classmates were aspiring artists, songwriters, or composers, COIN took a different approach. They took it upon themselves to apply what they learned in the classroom and bring it to the [More]

Phantogram, Green Day, Sum 41 Highlight a Week of New Album Releases!

  • 11:29 am Monday, October 10th, 2016 by Kyle T- Street Team

Fridays have become synonymous with new music releases, and last week was no different. Numerous new albums were released last Friday, but perhaps none more anticipated than Greenday’s Revolution Radio, Sum 41‘s 13 Voices, and Phantogram’s Three. To makes things even better, they all appear to be very good albums, based on my opinion, combined with early critical response. Even more good news is that one of these bands just so happens to be playing Next Big Thing this year (Phantogram!). Sum 41 just played St. Pete’s State Theatre as part of their Don’t Call It a Sum Back Tour. Green Day also just announced a [More]
