Matty Healy teases new music coming soon from The 1975

The 1975 will release their third album Music For Cars next year but new music from them may be here sooner than that! 

Matty Healy teased us on Twitter Sunday that an EP may be in the works ahead of the release of the next album.

In a series of tweets, Matty Healy confirmed a debut album separate from the 1975 is in the works. He described the project, known as ‘Drive Like I Do’, as a separate entity from the 1975.

In that barrage of tweets came another that confirmed what fans have been fearing, and that is that Music For Cars might be the end of the 1975.

In an interview with Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe, Matty Healy announced the band’s third studio album, Music For Cars, is going to be released sometime in 2018. Long time fans of The 1975 will know that the band’s first EP was also of the same title, and Healy acknowledged that their next album will reference that and their second EP.

Matty Healy has a knack for leaking information about his band, The 1975, on Twitter, and today was no different. One look at this tweet and it appears their next album will potentially be titled, Music For Cars….

He was very active on Twitter today, engaging in several conversations as well as saying they are putting out a new vinyl later this year. Is that a reference to their new album be released later this year? Or a re-release of I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It?

War Child is an organization that offers aid and protection to children affected by war. They premiered the song on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1 show.
