This morning on Good Morning America Toni Cornell, the 12-year-old daughter of Chris Cornell, sang a heartwrenching version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with the help of OneRepublic. The performance was done in dedication to her father, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave, and his close friend Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Cornell died in May at age 52. Bennington in July at age 41, on Chris’s birthday.

As if this story couldn’t get any more sad, TMZ acquired and has since released the toxicology report following Chris Cornell’s death, showing the singer had several prescription drugs in his system. This is an especially significant revelation because the extent of his drug use, prescription or not, and his health was kept a secret to those close to him. His wife, Vicky, spoke to Chris on the phone 30 minutes before his death and claimed the tone in his voice reminded her of his oxycodone addiction 14 years prior.
