Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons is putting on a music festival for the best reason

Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons has organized something truly special. It’s “a music festival celebrating love for our LGBTQ+ community” and it’s this Saturday in Orem, Utah. The lineup includes Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees, Krewella, Nicholas Petricca of Walk the Moon, Joshua James, and AJA Volkman.
Dan Reynolds organized the event after coming to his own realizations about his beliefs. Reynolds was raised a conservative Mormon and saw first hand how religion could make members of the LGBTQ community feel isolated and depressed. Families were often even torn apart. He’s now on a mission to use both his own experiences and those of his peers to bridge the gap between religion and this beautiful community. As he said on the site, the LoveLoud foundation was started “to help ignite the relevant and vital conversation of what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept and support LGBTQ+ youth in an effort to keep families together. LoveLoud is a catalyst for bringing communities together to ignite a conversation that celebrates individuality. It all begins with talking about, sharing and showing the realities of what LGBTQ+ teens face daily.”
And I think we can all agree the BEST way to bring people together is music.
