What a way to kick off the weekend right??!?

Overnight Lorde dropped her sophomore album Melodrama and announced her world tour which WILL be stopping in Tampa April 11th at Amalie Arena!

Lorde has wildly matured with this project and proven to all of us that it was worth the four year wait. With the help of co-writer Jack Antonoff of Bleachers she communicates the trials and struggles of youthful love, loss, navigating and maturing in the superficial world of pop culture. There are moments similar to Pure Heroine where we feel her blissful numbness of untamed young love as in ‘Sober’ – “we’re king and queen of the weekend…ain’t a pill that could touch our rush”. Then follows with an  emotional piano ballad like ‘Liability’ revealing vulnerable feelings of being rejected and striving for acceptance  saying “I’m a liability…I’m a little much for everyone”. ‘Perfect Places’ closes the album with the powerful and eerily relatable last line “all the nights spent off our faces, trying to find these perfect places , what the f*** are perfect places anyway?”. Overall it is a strong follow-up to the triple platinum Pure Heroine of 2013 and I think we can all agree the world tour will be phenomenal!
