Bleachers release their new album Gone Now June 2nd, kick off a tour tomorrow (5/20) and TODAY I was lucky enough to get Jack Antonoff on the phone for an interview!
We covered everything from his working relationship with Lorde, his feelings on the loss of Chris Cornell and about what it has been like taking his childhood bedroom on tour.
Here’s a little more detail on his mobile bedroom trailer. Jack lived at home in this New Jersey bedroom until he was 27 and it is the place where he discovered his love of music and went on to write and record dozens and dozens of songs. He has carefully dismantled and recreated his bedroom inside of a trailer that will join them on tour and as he explained on twitter “i write & record records in my bedroom. my work truly comes from this space in new jersey. i want people to hear gone now in this room”. Yes! That means fans will get to explore the bedroom while listening to Gone Now. Genius. He explained to me that he was unsure how it would be received but after it’s debut in New York where fans actually came to tears listening to the album inside, he knew it was perfect.
