Throughout the day, we will be featuring additional Twenty One Pilots songs into our normal rotation. “Listeners will hear live tracks, covers and exclusive Twenty One Pilots songs throughout every hour, all day long!” Said 97X Director of Branding and Programming, Dan Connelly.
At 8:00am and 8:00pm, we will countdown the eight biggest Twenty One Pilots songs with special editions of the 8@8.
At Noon, 97X will feature three live tracks from Twenty One Pilot’s Blurryface tour with a special edition of the 97X Three Track Snack.
At 1:30pm, Judah & the Lion, who will be opening the show later tonight, will be performing and exclusive acoustic set in the Corona Extra Green Room at the 97X studios.
At 5pm, “Blurryface Radio” will play an “Emotional Roadshow” mix—a remix of twenty one pilots hits and deep tracks— leading up to the show, for those on their afternoon commute from work and to the show.
From 5-7pm “Blurryface Radio” will be hosting a Clique Pre Party at Ferg’s Live for the band’s fan base, the #SkeletonClique, where they will be streaming exclusive twenty one pilots videos and green room performances across their big screens as well as offering drink specials.
After the show, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun of the newly Grammy Award winning duo—twenty one pilots—will be hosting an after concert takeover for 1 hour on “Blurryface Radio”. Be sure to tune in on your way home from the show. No other station in the country can boast about something like this!
As you may or may not know, 97X was one of the first commercial radio stations in the country, outside of the Columbus, Ohio area, to play twenty one pilots. They have had a long history with the duo, booking them to play the 97X Next Big Thing in 2012, 97X BBQ in 2013, and then headline the sold out 97x Next Big Thing in 2015.Twenty one pilots visited the 97X Green Room twice, once is 2013 and again in 2015 to perform an acoustic session following the release of their latest album, Blurryface. The rebranding to “Blurryface Radio” is another addition to the longstanding relationship between twenty one pilots and 97X.
