If you ever wondered if those in a band pay attention to the crowd or even know what city they’re performing in on a given night, Circa Survive’s Brendan Ekstrom just proved otherwise. Not only did he see something in the crowd at a recent show in St. Louis, but he did something about it. He took to Twitter to explain why he left the stage in the middle of their set, and it’s pretty remarkable.
Quick note to those who were at the show last night. I’ve been doing this for 20 years and I’ve never walked of stage during [More]

How else would Discovery Channel kick off Shark Week than by having the greatest Olympian of all time race a deadly shark in open water?
The only problem was that the shark was computer simulated using data analysis of real sharks’ swimming metrics, and Michael Phelps raced it under very controlled conditions.
It’s safe to assume that Discovery Channel paid Phelps a boatload of money as well. He did get a chance to race actual sharks in a warmup to the race against the great white, in which Phelps beat a Reef Shark. He was blown away by the Hammerhead as you can see below.

Former Blink-182/Angels & Airwaves member Tom DeLonge posted something really strange on Facebook this past Friday. He’s teasing SOMETHING but it’s totally unclear what it is. DeLonge says it “doesn’t matter if you are a fan of my music or not” so we don’t think it’s a new band or single. He then gets extra creepy saying “it’s not about me. It’s about…us”. Like, okay crazy pants.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his death, the members of Linkin Park posted an open letter to Chester Bennington this morning on Facebook. The full message reads as such:
Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened.
You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private, from around the world. Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the world to know that [More]

Construction on a new $1.25 million skate park near Tropicana Field is currently underway. The 30,000 square foot facility is being built in the existing Campbell Park and is funded entirely by the City of St. Pete. The purpose is not only to attract world class skating events but to also add variety to the lives of children residing in and around St. Pete. With the prevalence of mainstream sports like football in the state of Florida, extreme sports like surfing and skate boarding often get overlooked. When finished it will be the largest skate park in the state, so they [More]

Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto will be back in theatres this fall, landing a role in Blade Runner 2049 alongside Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. His character’s name is Neander Wallace, and he doesn’t appear to be one of the good guys. After playing the joker and now this, Leto is making a case for himself to be one of the best ‘bad guys’ around.
